September started with a bang when Khushi was chosen by The Consular Corps in Mumbai, The Rotary Club of Bombay and The Oberoi as one of the beneficiaries of ‘The Oberoi Melting Pot – 2012’ an annual charity event that show cases World Cuisine and Culture. We were extremely happy to have been picked as one of 3 NGO’s and can’t wait to spread as much awareness about our cause at the event which will take place in October. http://www.facebook.com/events/157003871055020/?ref=nf
As if this news wasn’t enough, we were so happy to have Sayuri Dalvi, a mother of one of the kids that comes to us for therapy, agree to run as our “Dream Maker” in the ‘Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon -2013’. Please do give her all your support as she will be playing a major role in spreading awareness for a cause that is close to all our hearts. Check out and ‘Like’ Sayuri Dalvi’s Fan Club and show her some love! http://www.facebook.com/SayuriDalviFanClub?ref=hl
While we work very hard we also love to enjoy and have fun. On Teacher’s Day, the therapists were showered with love and encouragement by all of you and we thank you so much for that. The kids of Gems visited Mount Mary’s Church and Ganesh pandals as part of their school outings.
This month we also had many volunteers, one of whom is Rebecca Lyddon, a UK based artist and designer that came to Mumbai to explore ways in which autistic children experience the world. www.lardesign.co.uk
September was definitely an interesting month for us and we can’t wait for October!!
