As kids made progress with individual therapy sessions, parents reported the need for their kids to understand social rules and norms.
Most of the kids wanted to play with other kids but didn’t know how to. They didn’t know how to initiate a conversation or stay on topic. Some others could initiate a conversation and stay on topic but did not understand sarcasm and bullying.
It was then in 2002, that we started working on these social skills in group therapy sessions. There are a maximum of 6 kids to a minimum of 3 kids in a group session. Groups are made as per the development level of the child and not as per the age.
